AHMEDABAD: A team of sentries found two mobile phones abandoned near a kitchen of the Sabarmati Central Jail. The jail officials registered a case with Ranip police and handed over the case to the special operations group (SOG) for further investigation. According to Ranip police, the guards on duty saw two broken mobile phones near the central kitchen.
The phones were without SIM cards. The sentries collected the goods and informed senior prison officials after which a complaint was registered with city police.
After the recent jail-break attempt by some of the prisoners lodged there, security arrangements have been tightened inside the prison. This is the first instance after the foiled escape bid that mobile phones were found there.
