The phones were without SIM cards. The sentries collected the goods and informed senior prison officials after which a complaint was registered with city police.
After the recent jail-break attempt by some of the prisoners lodged there, security arrangements have been tightened inside the prison. This is the first instance after the foiled escape bid that mobile phones were found there.
